At Active Communities, we are dedicated to enhancing health and wellbeing for everyone in our community. This Carers Week 2024, we were thrilled to team up with Renfrewshire Carers Centre to host a special event that truly put family carers on the map.
On Tuesday 11th June, a group of carers, their friends, and supporters gathered at Station Seven, our vibrant hub, for an invigorating walk through Johnstone. This event aimed to encourage carers to take a well-deserved break from their demanding roles and connect with others who understand their journey.
The route led us through scenic cycle paths, showcasing the natural beauty of Johnstone. It was great to see friendships forming and bonds strengthening as we walked together.
After the walk, everyone returned to Station Seven for some well-earned refreshments. It was a delightful end to a meaningful afternoon, providing an opportunity for carers to relax, recharge, and share their experiences.
We believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting those who dedicate their lives to caring for others. This walk was more than just a physical activity; it was a celebration of the resilience and compassion of family carers.
