Phone Buddies


Project: Community Health Champions

Hours: 2-3hrs weekly or fortnightly

Purpose: To be part of our befriending phone service offering a friendly chat to those isolated in the community.

Jog Leaders

 

Project: Community Health Champions

Hours: 2 hours per week

Purpose: To lead our community jogging groups, supporting local people to get active and healthy whilst ensuring runs are friendly and safe.

Main tasks:

Required skills:

  • An enjoyment of jogging and the outdoors
  • A belief in the benefits of exercise and physical activity
  • A kind, helpful and friendly personality
  • Reliability and good timekeeping.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Confident at speaking in front of small groups
  • Able to take control and be assertive when necessary
  • Observant and sensitive to needs of the group

Walk Leaders

Project: Community Health Champions

Hours: 2 hours per week

Purpose: To lead our community walks, supporting local people to get active and healthy whilst ensuring walks are friendly and safe

Main tasks:

  • Checking and familiarising yourself with walking routes
  • Welcoming new members, completing rehisters and registration forms
  • Leading and managing the walks
  • Ensuring walks are fun, friendly, safe and enjoyable
  • Linking with our volunteer coordinator

Required Skills:

  • A belief in the benefits of exercise and physical activity
  • A kind, helpful and friendly personality

Play Rangers

Are you 11-18 years old and looking for an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors whilst gaining some great experience?

We are recruiting young volunteers to become Play Rangers!
BECOME A YOUNG LEADER.

As a young outdoor play leader you will build your own confidence and help younger children lead their own play in the great outdoors. Taking part in the training sessions will prepare you for volunteering work with children and young people. So why not become part of the fantastic Play Rangers!

You will have the opportunity to gain an award. Complete a Hi 5 awards, put hours towards a Dynamic Youth Award, Saltire award or DofE sectional award, or just come along for the experience.

When and where?
Meeting weekly at Erskine Community Gardens on Fridays, each date below from 3.30-5pm.
May: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
June: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
