Santa Searcher Crafts

Make your own Santa Searchers!

Hello! And, first of all, well done if you have found this fun activity during our Jingle Bell Elf Trail! It's been a strange year and it's left a lot of us wondering how we can keep ourselves busy or even celebrate while the world is like this! We hope these fun little winter activities give you some ideas on how to keep yourself busy during the festive period!

We found this great tutorial from LoveYourLittles and we thought we should give it a go! We all should have a surplus of toilet rolls after all the bulk buying this year so this is a great way recycle them! This tutorial is suitable for all ages, using easy to find items and very easy to follow!

What you will need:

2 x Empty toilet roll holders

Safe scissors

Coloured paper/card

Glue

Double sided tape (optional)

Decorative items (pompoms, sequins, stickers etc.)

String/yarn/embroidery thread

The process:

1. Cut the coloured paper or card to the length of the toilet roll holder. Wrap the coloured paper around the holder and glue into place. Repeat this on both toilet roll holders. If you don't have coloured card, you can paint your toilet rolls like us! Allow paint to dry.

2. Decorate however you wish! We used some Christmas pompoms!

3. Using either glue or double sided tape, attach the holders together and allow for the glue to dry.

4. Use glue or double sided tape to attach your choice of string to join holders together to be worn around your neck.

5. Well done! You're finished! Give yourself a pat on the back and share your creation with the world! Use them to spot Santa on Christmas Eve! Send a picture to us at jenny@activecommunities.co.uk or tag us on social media and we will share it for everyone to see.
