Active Communities is welcoming applications for Board members to help support and shape the future of the organisation

Active Communities is an inspirational community-led organisation that develops and delivers fun, innovative programmes across Renfrewshire and surrounding areas that inspire people to become more active, promote health and wellbeing and empower people to change their lives.

We are looking to grow our current board and expand our range of skills to help us on the next stage of our exciting journey. We have successfully applied for a Community Asset Transfer of the former Johnstone Police Station to develop a community led health and wellbeing hub. We now have £1.2million funding secured to take the project forward.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, committed, dependable and proactive volunteer trustees who share our passion and values for helping people to improve their health and wellbeing, reduce loneliness and isolation and provide opportunities to change lives.

In particular we are seeking trustees from the Johnstone area who have knowledge of our work and the needs of the local community.

In addition, we are looking for local people with a background /expert skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

The Board is responsible for the financial and legal welfare of Active Communities and for developing the strategic direction of the organisation.

Board members will typically be active for 4 hours per month, plus attend scheduled board meetings every 8 weeks and expected to attend the AGM.

Full support and training will be provided to all board members.
